KAREN DULONG

Karen Dulong lives in Nørrebro and is both an artist and a gallery owner. Growing up in a family of artists and entrepreneurs, she has always been fascinated by the aesthetics of art and its transformative power.

Her inspiration to create meaningful art that both challenges and touches people stems from her personal journey of living with a chronic intestinal disease "Morbus Crohn's". This journey has taught her to find meaning even in the most unexpected situations. Through her works, Karen aims to convey a message of resilience and the transcendence of beauty in adversity.

She holds a Master's degree in Strategic Design & Entrepreneurship from Copenhagen Business School and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

"What Remains, Becomes" – A Botanical Reflection on Healing and Renewal

An evolving solo-exhibition by Karen Dulong – November 15th-December 20th 2025

GALERIA 18’s founder and curator Karen Dulong steps forward as an exhibiting artist – inviting the public into a personal and ongoing process of transformation.

From November 15, visitors can experience how Karen paints directly onto leftover fabrics & paper bags – each piece carrying traces of care, labor, and everyday life. Through these materials, once used and worn, small botanical studies begin to bloom; fragile yet persistent, reflecting cycles of decay and renewal.

Through this process, she explores how something imperfect or discarded can become a vessel for reflection and new life. The exhibition mirrors her own practice of creating and healing while living with a chronic disease, Morbus Crohn’s – finding light and meaning in what remains, and allowing beauty to grow from constraint.

What Remains, Becomes – A Botanical Reflection on Healing and Renewal is about making the most of what is – to keep creating, even when things don’t go as planned. To make space for softness, healing, and growth – in art, and in life.
